CMC Sustainability Days

Last year, CMC held an awesome college-wide sustainability conference in Steamboat. This year, each campus will hold their own mini-conferences to celebrate their successes and raise awareness about the green sustainability efforts CMC is engaged in college wide. Below is a schedule and brief sum-up of various campus events.

CMC Steamboat Springs: April 14, 4:30 – 7 pm
Sustainability Studies student Poster Presentations a Beekeeping Club Book sale and other events will take place from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. The evening’s main event, Peace Ecology: An Evening with Randall Amster will take place at Allbright Auditorium from 6:00-7:30 pm. Amster, J.D., PhD, is Director of the Program on Justice and Peace at Georgetown University

Central Services/Roaring Fork Campus: April 22, 12 – 2 pm Events will take place in Room 302 and across the bridge in the 3rd floor rough-in space above the Glenwood Springs Library. Enjoy locally-sourced food, a Plant GiveAway, a Sustainability Photo Booth, speakers including Robert McIntosh from the Rocky Mountain Institute and sustainability student Alex Curtiss, and tables staffed by representatives from CLEER and CMC. Nine sustainability students from the Roaring Fork campus will also be on hand to share their capstone projects.

CMC Edwards: Earth Day, April 22, 12 – 2 pm
Sustainability students from the Edwards campus location will share their capstone projects in poster presentations. Bands, food, workshops will round out the day’s events.

CMC Breckenridge: April 24, 1 – 5:30 pm
Auden Schendler, author of “Getting Green Done” and vice president of sustainability at the Aspen Skiing Company will speak on “Getting Green Done: Enacting Sustainability” from 2:30-3:30 pm. Other activities include capstone presentations by Bachelor of Sustainability Studies (BASS) students, facilitated discussions and demonstrations on a variety of topics, information tables for local businesses and companies, food, prizes and more!
