X Games Aspen 2014 kicks off in Aspen today and lasts through Sunday, January 26, 2014. Events are held outside at Buttermilk and are free and open to the public: Layer up accordingly!

HOW TO GET THERE. (AND HOW TO PARK THERE!)
TAKE THE BUS: Roaring Fork Valley public transport (RFTA) is an eco-friendly way to get to the XGames, with a naturally-designated safe driver. For info on schedules and prices, call 970-925-8484, or go to www.rfta.com.
PARKING: Driving on your own? Designate a responsible driver, then stash your car at the Brush Creek Intercept Lot at Hwy 82 and Brush Creek Rd. Parking at the Intercept lot is FREE, and free shuttles will run continuously from the Intercept Lot to the X Games venue at Buttermilk from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Jan. 23 – 26. Keep in mind that the last X Games shuttle departs from the venue’s main entrance 45 minutes after the last comp finishes up each night.

Thursday, Jan. 23: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 24: 10:30 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 25: 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Sunday, Jan. 26: 11 a.m. – 8:45 p.m.
SAFETY (AND A FEW XGAMES RULES):
•Alcohol, coolers, pets (with the exception of guide dogs), large bags, weapons, folding chairs, large umbrellas, laser-lights, noisemakers, beverages of any kind (factory-sealed water in plastic bottles OK) and sticks or poles to hold flags/banners aren’t allowed at the XGames, so plan on leaving said items at home.
•Large posters and banners must be checked by security before being allowed in the venue.
•Commercial photography or video is prohibited at the XGames, and failure to comply will result in getting you booted out of the Games. Specifically, the following equipment is not permitted: Lenses greater than three and one half inches in length, telephoto or zoom lenses of any kind, interchangeable lenses of any kind, monopods or tripods or flash equipment of any kind. All wireless equipment must be cleared by ESPN.
X GAMES MUSIC
Nightly music concerts are held at Wagner Park on S. Mill St. in downtown Aspen. General admission costs $30, an $150 X Games Music Premium Club tickets gets you a heated tent with viewing platform, food and drink. Tickets can be purchased online at www.bellyupaspen.com or on the day of the show, pending availability, from 10:00 a.m.– 6:30 p.m. at the will call/ticket office on Mill St. next to Wagner Park. Shuttles will run between downtown Aspen and Snowmass to Buttermilk from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. from Jan. 23-26 to get you back and forth from the events to the music.
