The first in a dynamic series of workshops sponsored by the Isaacson School for New Media takes place this week at CMC in Aspen. The Isaacson School’s Digital Black Diamond Workshops, designed to get both beginners and mid-career professionals up to speed in new media, start Friday March 1, 2013 with Social Media I: The Basics and Beyond. The Black Diamond Workshops series continues on subsequent Fridays through the month of March, with one workshop – Digital Media Storytelling – offered on Wednesdays.
All workshops move from from Beginner Level, to Intermediate Level, then on to Advanced Level skills. All five workshops can be purchased at a discount of $250. Pre-registration is much appreciated.

Digital Storytelling Workshop.
Learn skills in digital storytelling and creating a compelling message, using current techniques and tools to create video. Course discusses ways to distribute video and build an audience using social media. Other topics include: concept development, lighting and audio, interviewing skills, covering a scene, writing, basic editing, optimizing video for the web, and effective communication. Participants will create short videos for the web. Co-taught by Michael Conniff and Greg Poschman, winner of three Emmy awards for directing and cinematography.

The Basics of Multimedia. Gain basic understanding of and skill in using pieces of content to populate your social media platforms with compelling content.
