EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado — Gerald Gallegos was committed to local philanthropic needs, especially those supporting youth and education. To honor this tradition, The Gallegos Corporation has partnered with the Colorado Mountain College Foundation to create The Gerald G. Gallegos Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will benefit Eagle County students pursuing an associates degree or a four-year bachelor’s degree at the CMC Edwards campus.
As part of the agreement, CMC named Classroom VE 258 the Gerald G. Gallegos room. In addition to being a classroom with “SmartBoard” technology, the room can be used by corporations or by any group in the region. The Gallegos Corporation recently held a strategic planning retreat in the room.
The scholarship is a natural progression honoring Gallegos’ heritage since education was a passion of his. Gallegos was one of the original founders of The Youth Foundation and was an integral part of local education programs for youth from pre-school through higher education. The Gallegos Corporation wanted to continue this legacy with a long -term commitment to students and their education.
