Nine students from Colorado Mountain College’s teacher education program at CMC Glenwood Springs and Vail Valley traveled in August to the University of Texas at El Paso to give presentations at the 2018 MALCS Summer Institute. Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social (Women Active in Letters and Social Change) brought together Chicanas, Latinas and Native American women working in academia and community settings from across the country to share information and offer support to each other. From left, from Glenwood Springs and Rifle are student Luz Galaviz, teacher education Associate Professor Dr. Leticia Burbano de Lara, and students Kenia Pinela and Ana Chavira.
